On Good Friday, my husband and I went searching for spring wildflowers in the hills of California. We do it every year, but since all the rain we’ve been having lately, we expected it to be super good. We weren’t disappointed. All the photos you see here were found along Shell Creak Road in San Luis Obispo County, near Santa Margarita. Such a delight to see such variety along one road!

Every year I say I’m going to do this and every year something comes up. This year it was a trip to NYC followed by COVID. But I’m hoping to get out in another week or so and see what I can find.

I’m sorry to hear about the covid. I hope you are able to make it here while its still at full-force. Not sure if we caught it at it’s peak. It may still have a week or so to go.

There are places closer to home I may try to get to in the next couple of weeks. May not see a super bloom, but hopefully some healthy wild flower sightings!!

How wonderful for you to be immersed in Mother Nature’s hopeful superblooms emerging from the supercatastrophic-climate change weather California has been experiencing. A beautiful pause, indeed.

I know, me too. But we really can’t. Don’t want to crush all those blossoms. I was surprised how many people were traipsing through them, and even spreading out picnic blankets on top.
